Experience sharing of learning Huashan Qigong

I am a man in the 50s. When I joined the third batch of HKP Chinese Wushu Club’s Huashan Qigong classes in early September 2008, I did not know what this Qigong exercise is all about because it was the first time I had ever taken part in a Chinese Qigong class.  As I wanted to try sometime new, then I made up my mind to attend lessons regularly to the best I could.

With the progress of the Qigong lessons, I learnt various styles of this Qigong exercise for which Master HUI gave inspirational lectures on each and every Qigong style.  I was in fact not too diligent to practice this breathing exercise; anyway, I would normally practice this Qigong for about four times per week, each lasting about half an hour. Though I still did not experience any positive observations of significant value after attending the first few lessons, I just carried on practicing the Qigong styles I had learnt as usual.  Then approximately three months after learning this Qigong, I noticed that my hands were getting warn.  Before that, my hands were always cold even during fine weather days with pleasant temperature ranging 17-23 C.

I suffered from neck pain since early 2nd quarter of 2008, for which I changed pillows of different size and quality for a couple of times, but I was not relieved of my neck pain in any way. In fact I did not feel any pain on my neck during day time.  The ailment only occurred to my neck after I retired to bed.Whenever I turned right while in bed, I would always feel the ache on the right side of my neck. My body also failed to undergo a natural process of self recovery as expected.  As soon as I had learnt the “Tortoise style” in the seventh lesson, I would practise this style every time I practiced Qigong because I was given to understand that this “Tortoise style” is an exercise for strengthening the neck area; therefore, I would usually practice this particular style for a couple of times more than other styles in each practice session.  Then about 2-3 weeks later, I suddenly found that all my neck pain disappeared.  This neck ache never irritates me again since then.

In recent years I have noticed that a lot of black little moles of the size of black sesames have developed on the skin of my chest and abdomen area. Though these little moles tarnish the look of my skin, I felt neither pain nor itch about them.  Therefore I would often ignore these little moles inadvertently as far as they do not pose any noticeable problem to me.  About six months after learning and practicing Huashan Qigong, I noticed quite unexpectedly that these black little moles have faded out by about 50%, and the skin of my chest and abdomen area are getting smoother than before.  Now I won’t be shy away from the beautiful beaches and crowded public swimming pools in swimming-trunks.

I would like to take this opportunity to express thanks to Master HUI for his patient and inspirational conduct of lessons of Huashan Qigong, which I think, should be practiced regularly in order to enhance health and achieve longevity of good quality.

                            With best regards to all.
